Lexall E5 - 1600 Lumen 3-in-1 6 Modes EDC Flashlight

I really like flashlights, and only recently have gotten to the point where I won't pick up each and every flashlight that comes my way. These days, I'm generally interested mostly if it has a very neat design, is unarguably useful, or dead simple to operate. I was taken by the form and appearance of this one. So, how well does it work and perform, in practical layman terms?

You can see the design for yourself in the product description, so I won't cover that much. You like how it looks and feels, or you don't. Size-wise, I've included a picture that shows it next to two popular brands of candybar-style flashlights to show how compact it is. Perhaps that's a generous way to describe it; At the same width and thickness, this one is just shorter. But that does make a difference on how it feels in the hand and in the pocket.

The probably obvious cost of a shorter flashlight is battery life. For periodic needs, this has plenty of battery to get through several days of use. For near constant use, you'll want something else, or at least a spare, as this won't make it through a full work day, even at the lowest brightness on any of its LEDs.

The side / wide LED is surprisingly useful, as far as location and light spread goes. The front / spot LED is just as useful as you'd expect any front-facing light to be. Unfortunately, neither of these LEDs gets very dim, which would help extend battery life, and the last adjusted brightness level is not saved, so if you want a specific level you're going to have to set it again.

The UV light is a useful wavelength for highlighting organic and manyUV-reactive materials, but is not the wavelength needed to cure UV resins. It is smartly installed in the front of the body, and is the last mode selected when cycling through modes.

After any light has been on for about (an actual) five seconds, another press of Power/Mode will just turn it off, rather that forcing one to continue cycling through other modes.

While the flashing side-light option is mercifully hidden behind a double-click of the Power/Mode button while the lights are Off (so the user isn't forced to see the flashing mode every time they use the thing), the user interface does have some behaviors that don't quite make sense to me:

- While the front and side LEDs can be steplessly dimmed/brightened via a long-press of Power/Mode while those lights are on, the last brightness level used is not saved and can't be recalled. So a favorite brightness adjustment will have to be made again from one of the stock mode brightness levels, if you want it again.

- A double click of Power/Mode while the side or front lights are on does activate a brighter Turbo mode, but it only does so for the side light; The front light has no Turbo mode. This means if you activate Turbo while using the front light, that will turn Off as the side light goes to Turbo. That could be confusing, and possibly unsafe, in the real world.

Other features are both side and rear magnets, both of which are useful, but the side/back magnet is notably weaker than the one on the back end. While the description says "waterproof", no IP rating is provided, and the manual states it is only good against splashes, not being submerged. I would not let it sit too long if you happen to drop it in a decently deep puddle.

One feature I don't see mentioned anywhere, is that the side LED has a glow-in-the-dark ring around it that becomes charged when using that LED. After a bit of use with the side LED, it is bright enough to help find the flashlight in the dark, even if it's not turned on.

Overall, this may be the closest that a relatively cheap candybar flashlight has come to being a reasonable replacement for my more expensive ones. The only mode that I really don't want is Flashing mode, and that one is not part of the normal mode cycle, so it's effectively hidden, which is good.

It doesn't have a ton of mostly useless modes or features, but the ones that it has have was seems to me like some odd restrictions and limitations, and they aren't in what I would call the most intuitive order in the mode cycle. I would prefer that the Front LED be the first light to turn on (and also have an available Turbo mode), the Side LED next, then have the UV light hidden like the Strobe mode, behind a dedicated click pattern. And as far as limitations go, an available "Eco" or "Moon" mode that's very dim would be beneficial as the first available brightness for any front or side LED, very useful for quickly checking something in the dark, while also extending battery life.

As a less-expensive alternative to name-brand candybar-style flashlights that can cost well over $100, this is not a bad option, but it is also not the best. The otherwise neat design results in compromised battery size and life, and the middlin' user interface can make getting turning on the favored LED to the favored brightness more work than it should be.

For a long time I have wanted a small EDC style light that I could fit in my pocket or easily carry in my backpack for those moments when I just need to get a closer look at something in a dark place or in the evening while walking my dog. This light fits all of those use cases and I have to say it is really versatile and extremely well made. I really appreciate the clip on the back which keeps it secure in my pocket and that it is surprisingly weighty yet also very portable. That weight is because the body is almost entirely metal and the battery inside seems to be pretty sizable as it is able to run at a high brightness for a reasonable amount of time. You can get completely seamless dimming on both of the main bulbs which is great and there is an included UV light which operates at 395 nanometers. However, that is why I cannot give this flashlight five stars because a UV LED operating at that wavelength can actually cause significant damage to your eyes without you even knowing it and typically requires the use of protective glasses - so I cannot stress this enough. If you are using the UV light on this flashlight, you absolutely need to be wearing protective glasses that are rated as "UV400". Even small amounts of 395 nanometer UV light reflecting off of surfaces and back into your eyes can permanently damage them and you will not feel this damage occurring.

All that said, I simply don't use the UV light function on this flashlight, but I do use the magnets and the other two LED lights extensively and I really appreciate how high quality it is. Overall in excellent value with one significant caveat!

This lexall E5 EDC flashlight is excellent. It's not too heavy, extremely versatile with its ability to cycle light brightnesses, and the UV light works excellently, and extremely handy to have around if you have a pet that tends to have accidents.

It charges via USB C, and I was pleased to see that you can forego the USB type C to USB type A cable in the box and just use a C -> C cable which you probably have a load lying around of by now.

My only complaint is the manual mentions a Turbo mode, but I could never get that to enable with the double clicking of the power button, but it's a minor complaint as this flashlight is super bright as it is.

Overall, this is great value for what you get, and I'm super pleased with it.

For the price this flashlight delivers serious value. It has become my go to EDC light thanks to how slim and pocket friendly the design is, you barely notice it is there until you need it. The dual magnetic base is a standout feature, giving you flexibility to mount it in different spots which has been especially useful at work. Brightness is excellent and more than enough for everyday tasks or emergencies. The clip is sturdy and holds firm so there is no worry about it slipping out of your pocket throughout the day. On top of all that the ruby red and black finish looks great. A well rounded EDC flashlight that checks every box. Battery life also seems to be really good!

I would not expect so much out of something at this price. The compact size fits perfectly in your hand or pocket. The included clip allows it to be easyily affixed to a pocket, ball cap brim, etc. As if that were not enough, there are two magnetic points you can use to plop the light onto a metal surface. The two light sources work very well too. Tapping the power button cycles the "out the side" light through it's lower and brighter settings. Both of which are super bright. Continuing the taps cycles to the front light white then U/V. A quick double tap of the power button activates strobe on the side light. And a long press of the power button will adjust the brightness down both for the side and front light. Charging is via a standard USB-C plug which has a rubbery cover for when not in use. My only real complaint is that you have to cycle though the modes every time you turn on as opposed to it coming back on in the last used mode. Minor issue and given all the other strengths not something I'll doc it stars for. This is great for a glove compartment, tool bag, range bag or just for EDC.

This compact rechargeable flashlight is a practical everyday carry tool. It combines a bright COB floodlight and focused LED spotlight up to 1600 lumens with useful stepless dimming for precise control. The 365nm UV light works well for inspections, detecting leaks and stains effectively.
Build quality is solid with an aluminum body that feels durable and pocketable at just 3 ounces. Dual magnets and the clip provide excellent hands-free options on metal surfaces or clothing. Multiple modes, including strobe, cover a range of needs for work, camping, or emergencies.

Finally a super bright flashlight with an actually strong magnet!!

I've had flashlights with magnets before and I've always been frustrated by the magnets. Either they're not strong enough to hold the flashlight out straight like it is designed, or the design isn't right to allow the magnet to fully contact. Finally one that works great.

It may seem like a little thing - but I also like that the light activation scheme is simple. You just press the single power button and scroll through the options available. I have flashlights where you have to long-press or do some other weird combination. I have one flashlight that is confusing to use and it's quite easy to accidentally activate the side light and have it shie right in your eyes ??

There are two forward facing bright LED white lights, for use like a regular flashlight. Then there's also this big round beautiful soft but bright COB light mounted on the side of the flashlight. Perfect for power outages, or for putting under the hood of your car while you're working on it, or for any time that you need a stationary light.
Finally, there is a UV light which definitely isn't the strongest UV light I've ever used. If you're buying the flashlight specifically for the UV, then you would want to look for a different light, but I didn't even know it was there, so it's a nice surprise.

I'm totally happy with it. It's not big - actually smaller than I thought it was going to be when I saw the image (which is better ??), but it's not any less bright.
Oh I like the little pocket clip on it, too.

This EDC flashlight is compact but surprisingly capable. The main light is bright, the COB work light is useful for hands-free area lighting, and the 365nm UV feature adds extra functionality for checking stains, leaks, IDs, or other UV tasks. The rechargeable design is convenient, and the pocket-friendly size makes it easy to keep in a tool bag, glove box, or desk drawer. It feels like a lot of light in a small package, and the dual-use design makes it more practical than a basic flashlight.

The E5 EDC flashlight is small, lightweight, easy to carry, super bright, rechargeable and magnetic. The other night I heard a big bang outside that made the house shake a little, like someone slammed a heavy door and I wasn't sure what it was. My husband was at the store and it was dark, but I wanted to see what was going on. We have a cougar that has been stalking around, along with other wildlife and live out in the country. So, being a bit nervous, I wanted to have a bright light, and I also took my knife and dog just in case. As I had them in my hand the flashlight clicked right onto my knife and it made a super comfortable, small self-defense unit. That was never my intention for this flashlight, I just happened upon it. It is much easier to carry the light and knife magnetically connected. The magnet is strong and it wasn't slipping on my knife at all. Not only that, the flashlight was super bright and really lit the place up, which is important because it is very dark where we live. The various modes and levels of the COB/Spot light are very helpful. I know that a lot of people use the clips, but I wish there was a way to remove it as it is something I don't need and just gets in the way. It doesn't take long to charge, but I am not sure how long it stays charged as I haven't used it enough to really test that out. One more thing I really like about this flashlight is that it is not round!! I love this slimmer, rectangular flashlight, it is easy to carry in my pocket, and perfect for my use at home.

I thought I was going to be disappointed with this flashlight when I saw how small the retail package was when it arrived. But then I was rather impressed because it is well made of metal and is brighter than some of my larger flashlights I own. You can easily dim the COB and top light, up or down from 10-100% which is rather cool in itself. But the COB light also has a turbo mode which is really bright and a UV light. And, after I was overwhelmed with all those features, I found it also has a strobe light. This light fits nice in my hand, has a belt clip, and a magnet on the bottom. I was thinking to myself, the only thing that can make this flashlight better was if it had a magnet on the back so the COB light was facing forward. And guess what? IT DOES. This is one of the best products I have seen in a while and hope the manufacturer makes other products of this quality. I ordered this in June of 2026 when it was priced at $26.99 and although no one wants to pay a lot for a flashlight I think this one is well worth it. This is a quality product!

There's a lot to like about this light and, depending on your needs, could be pretty close to perfect.

First off, man is this thing rugged. Very hefty. I mean, you could practically use it as a brass-knuckle like assist in a fight. Ok, maybe not that heavy, but it does weigh in at 85.5g, which feels heavy for something this size. Depending on your needs, that could be a real negative. If you like to pack light, you might want to consider other options.

But, that ruggedness means that it will stand up to a lot of abuse, day in day out. So, if the weight isn't an issue for you, than the heft and ruggedness may be positives. I mean, it's a pretty sharp looking edc light that has a lot going for it.

The magnets are solid. There's two of them. One on the base and one on the clip. Both are strong enough to give a solid hold on any magnetic surface. I have plenty of edc lights with weak magnets that barely cut it and will shift or fall off with movement or vibration. Not these. These hold the flashlight solidly in place.

I like the ergonomics. Fits well in my hand. The button placement makes sense. There isn't a ridiculous number of modes to scroll through. Low and high white from the front COB, white flashlight from the front, and UV from the front. The real kicker though is the step-less dimmer. By holding the button, all the white light settings go through a step-less dimmer from (in the case of the front COB) dimmer than low to as bright as high, while the front white light starts high and dims down to a low and then back again. Two blinks when it's at the lowest or the highest setting, so no need to guess whether it's at it's dimmest or it's brightest. In a way, that dimmer makes having the low and high front COB button presses a bit redundant, but it is nice to have those presets. Only a slight miss on not returning to the preset dimmer setting the next time you turn on the light. Also, it's worth noting that this flashlight is quite bright for a flashlight this size. On high, the light is easily as bright and is as the brightest edc light that I own. I don't have any way to test lumens. Frankly, 1600 seems high, but on high that front COB is for sure bright enough for most any task.

The UV light is a nice addition. It's something that I do like to have about when camping or rock hunting along the beach at night.

The pocket clip is nice. It's a bit tight, but that will loosen with use or a bit of force. I guess I could wish for a slightly more versatile clip. Something that would allow the light to be clipped onto something a bit thicker than your shirt or pants.

The one feature that I really miss is a red light. I do have too many edc lights and several of those have red lights, but it sure would have been nice to have all my needs met in a single edc light. Sometimes you want light without destroying your night vision. That's something I really want when skywatching. So, I do miss that feature here. But, not every light serves every purpose. This one will see a lot of day to day use.

Oh, one other thing worth noting. Like a number of better flashlights that I own, this one has a glow in the dark ring around the front COB. Sometimes that residual glow helps you figure out where you set the thing down when you're out camping. Although it doesn't get used all that often, that is a feature that I pay attention to.

I'm always on the the look out for handy flashlights especially ones that have magnetic bases for working on cars. This one took me by surprise. I didn't pay very close attention to the size so when I saw the box for the first time I got an idea of how small this light is. When I picked up the box I got an idea of how durable this is, too. It's small but it seems to be made of solid aluminum, it's got heft. It's about the size of a bulky switch blade and has a clip to keep in your pocket as if it were one.
The functions are all controlled by one button, single press to cycle through the three lights and four modes. The side light has a high/low brightness then turns on the front light and black light. All of the lights are incredibly bright. They also put out a little bit of heat to give you a better idea of how bright they are. The magnets are in two spots for the front and side lights, they hold the light in both vertical and horizontal positions.
The battery seems generous. I had it turned on bright for about an hour and the light didn't dim and recharged at 10w. I'm over-all impressed!

Wasn't planning on carrying this everyday, but it's nice enough that I've started to. It's really solid and feels comfortable in the hand. The button is clicky and responsive and the light on the face even glows in the dark.

The lights are super bright and it seems to last forever. It doesn't get too warm to the touch which is nice. The UV light will show you things you didn't want to see. Stains on carpets, dust, liquid. Honestly sometimes ignorance is bliss.

It's really well though out. The clip is great. Can have a light that's attached to my shirt pocket, or I can clip it to my hat for a pseudo headlamp.

Capable of fast charging.

One thing is that I tend to look at it when I press the button and invariably will stare right into the bright light when I turn it on. I've learned to look away when turning it on, but it did take a few flashes.

Only thing I wish it had is a keychain loop. It's small, light, and useful enough that I want to use it as a keychain.

I use this mainly for the 365nm UV light to make my fluorescent paints on my models glow. And it works great! I thought it would be a little stronger than it is, but I also don't have anything else to compare it to. I just have to hold it closer for more of an effect.

The other modes work pretty good. Standard LED flashlight. If you need 1600 lumens, this will do it for you. It's well built and fairly hefty in terms of weight. I would have preferred that the first button press didn't first activate the brighter circular light on the front face, but maybe someone people want that. The magnet on the bottom is plenty strong and it'll hold this thing at a 90 degree angle off a fridge or other ferrous surface.

It's very simple to use with just the one button and then the charging port under the cap. I think the value is pretty good if there's a coupon. Not sure if I'd pick this up at full price when its competitors are not, but if the price is the same across the board I have no issues recommending this guy. Feels great to use and feels like good quality. No real complaints at the moment after a few weeks of use.

This light ticks all the boxes. It is small enough to take anywhere, and can survive abuse because of its aluminum casing. It has a clip for your belt, or T-shirt collar, to make it hands free when walking around or using to work on things. There are two lights, one oriented like a traditional flashlight, and one that is a flood light when the light is upright. All lights are dimmable by pressing and holding one of the switches. The battery life seems good, I have been using it for a while and it still shows full charge. There is also a UV light (black light) that is cool for looking at things that glow under black light and for charging up glow-in-the-dark stuff like clocks and watch faces or whatever. I understand they are also useful for locating scorpions and certain insects, but I don't need it for that. The UV light is modest, don't expect finger polish curing with it, and it's not adjustable for brightness. Since the main light is of COB design, it is very bright, and even lighting. There is a strong magnet on the base for holding it on metal, that might be useful in many situations. Overall, quite useful and a good value in a portable light.

this little flashlight has all sorts of power.
i'm not really a fan on how you switch from worklight to flash light. I just dont use worklight all that often, and this makes you press to cycle through 3 levels of worklight brightness before it activates the flashlight portion. If you long press, it goes to strobe. How often does anyone use the strobe function on a flashlight? Not hardly ever.
So doesn't it makes sense to make long press activate the worklight, and a single press activate the flashlight? then single pressing rotates through whatever is currently active. Worklight active? Ok, adjust brightness of that for each press, etc.

Anyway, its a good little light. The magnet isn't strong enough, in my opinion, however it is strong enough to hold the light up, but an accidental bump will send it to the ground.

it fits in your pocket better than any other flashlight...
