The design of the shape is cool, it’s long and slim like a pen. A little wide at the base for slipping into the average pen pocket. Comes with a pair of single-use AAA batteries and a rechargeable double-length one with a USB-C port at the top. The head swivels with one thumb, it’s fun to fidget with it. The clip is ‘t screwed down, but it’s really tight and doesn’t pop off without being forced. It carries well on the waist or in a pocket, and can be swiveled out for lighting my path from my waist. This is best as a work light, like for mechanics and handymen.
The high beam isn’t as bright as I like for spotting night animals, and the low isn’t as dim as I like for reading or simply lighting my way at night. The buttons cycle thru the strobe and SOS blinks every time, which is a little annoying. It’s a single press thru the cycle every time. Always turns on at high beam. I like the shape, it’s the skinniest light I have, and the angled head is handy at times. I like the battery options. Get it for the gimmick.
This magnetic pen light packs a lot of thoughtful design into a compact tool. The 90° swivel head moves smoothly from 0 degrees (inline) to a full 90‑degree angle, making it easy to aim light exactly where you need it. At 800 lumens, it’s genuinely bright for inspections or tight engine bays, and the SOS flashing mode is a smart addition for emergencies.
The power setup is the standout feature: it uses a unique removable lithium battery that’s twice the length of a AAA and has a built‑in USB‑C charging port. The LED indicator shows solid red while charging and solid green when full, which is super convenient. Even better, if you’re out in the garage or on the road with no charging available, you can swap in two AAA batteries and keep working. A well‑designed, reliable inspection light with real‑world flexibility.
This penlight is very bright for its size and works well for detailed inspection work in tight or hard-to-reach areas. The swivel head is especially useful, allowing the light to be angled easily without having to reposition your hand.
The magnetic base is strong enough to attach securely to metal surfaces, which is helpful when working on vehicles or in the garage. It stays in place well and keeps the light directed where you need it.
The rechargeable feature is convenient, and switching between power options is straightforward. Overall, it's a practical and versatile tool for automotive work and general inspection tasks where strong, focused lighting is needed.
This review is for Hopedone Magnetic 90° Swivel Head LED Penlight, 800 Lumens Mechanic Pen Light with Dual Fuel Rechargeable Power Inspection Flashlight for Automotive Repair & Garage Work (Black, 1).
This magnetic rechargeable pen light is an awesome addition to my husband‘’s tool kit. He‘’s the handyman in our home, always fixing something, and there are plenty of places that require a bright light that can fit into small spaces. This pen light does the trick!
It has a convenient pocket clip that attaches securely to his shirt while he works. The strong magnetic base also sticks firmly to metal surfaces, making hands-free lighting incredibly helpful.
It charges quickly, holds a charge for a long time, and is surprisingly lightweight, so it‘’s easy to carry anywhere. Its slim, compact design also makes it easy to store in a toolbox or pocket.
Overall, this is a great little light that is bright, durable, and incredibly useful. I highly recommend it!
This little penlight is very handy and great quality. It has a magnet on the bottom so you can mount it while you work if needed. The tip of the light swivels to adjust the angle as well. It has a clip so you can slip it in a pocket or on a visor.
I love that this has a rechargeable battery and can also be used with regular batteries if needed.
It is super bright, even at a distance, so I keep it in my car for emergencies.
Overall, I'm very happy with the quality, value, and function of this handy penlight and would recommend to others.
this is a great little light here are my thoughts on it.
1. it comes with the light, batteries and recharge cable (see pic 7) it is all charged and ready to go out of the box
2. you can either use the rechargeable battery (see pic 1) which you just plug the cable into and then plug it into a USB charging port or charger or you can use the two AAA batteries that are included (see pic 6) I appreciate the flexibility since I am not always in a location that I have access to power such as fishing or camping this allows me to just pack a couple extra batteries and I am good to go
3. it comes with four light modes high, low, strobe and SOS while I am not a fan of the strobe or SOS modes on flash lights they are there for those who feel they need them
4. the light can be used as a regular pen light (see pic 5) or has this really nice feature of a rotating head so you can use it at 90 degrees (see pic 4) which is really nice when using in a tight space where a straight light is hard to manage. combine this rotatable head the magnet on the back (see pic 2) and the clip on the side (see pic 3) and you end up with a very versatile light that you can clip on the front of your shirt or jacket freeing up your hands to work on something like putting tying on fishing hooks at night or some other close up project needing light or with the magnet you can stick the light to a metal and rotate the head to shine where you want to shine it such as if you blow a breaker you can stick it to the side of the panel and light up the breakers to see which one has been blown (see Pic 8)
over all: this is a good quality and well made solid pen light that has several features that makes it very versatile and a handy tool to have on hand. well worth the price
The P2 Magnetic 90° Swivel Head LED Penlight has proven to be an incredibly useful, hard-working addition to the garage toolbox after heavy use over the past few days. Delivering a true 800 lumens, it punches far above its weight class for a compact penlight, completely illuminating dark engine bays, wheel wells, and tight under-dash areas during automotive repair tasks.
The structural flexibility is where this light really shines. The 90-degree swivel head allows you to angle the beam precisely where it is needed, eliminating the frustration of awkward static shadows. This geometry combines perfectly with the heavy-duty magnetic base, which secures tightly to toolboxes, frames, or car hoods for completely hands-free workspace lighting. The dual-fuel option adds excellent logistical versatility, ensuring you can run it on the internal rechargeable battery system or quickly swap power sources when working extended shifts. It is a highly practical, durable, and thoughtfully engineered inspection light that provides exceptional value for the money for any technician or DIYer.
So far, so good! I only just received this flashlight, so I can't really say anything about how long it will last on a charge, or how durable it is. As of this moment, what I can say is that it is pretty bright, feels solidly built, and has a unique design that I like.
I am stuck in equipment racks in my recording studio frequently, either in my switching rack for my amplifiers, or my I/O rack for Pro Tools, and this flashlight is PERFECT for using in these areas. There is a powerful magnet on the end of the flashlight, and it will allow you to secure it to a metal rail or unit in the rack. With the light stuck to something, you can adjust the angle of the light to shine just where you need it. This is absolutely fabulous in my opinion, as I often have trouble getting my other magnetic light to shine exactly where I want, due to it having one long LED strip that is straight down the side. This flashlight lets you angle the light from straight on (0 degrees) to a right angle (90 degrees). The angle is smoothly adjustable from 0 to 90 degrees, allowing you to get light where you need it. This is great.
The only thing I really don't like about it at the moment is how you charge the rechargeable battery. Unlike other flashlights I have with rechargeable batteries, this one requires you to take the battery out of the flashlight and plug the USB charging cable into the battery. This is inconvenient and could have been avoided with a charging port on the body of the flashlight. This isn't a deal breaker by any stretch though, as the flashlight is good, and I find it very useful for my studio.
I would also say that it is nice for working on cars, as you can get it to shine right where you need it and it will keep you from having to tell your wife or kid to hold the flashlight for you... saving you innumerable arguments. HAHAHAHAH!
Bottom line: Recommended
I love a good angle head flashlight and this one is fantastic. I love the slim profile, and the widened magnetic base is thoughtfully designed for stability and secure hold. The clip holds tight and is easy to use. The angle head can be rotated from straight to 90 degrees so even when using the magnet to hold it to the side of your car as you change a tire in the dark, you can rotate the head to put the light right where you need it. It provides a very bright light on high, and a good useful light on low. The button, while it can be hard to find being black on black, operates distinctly with a click, and switches easily between high, low, strobe, and sos. It also has a memory function so if you turn it off with long hold, it'll turn back on at the same setting you used last. Dual power means you can bring extra AAA batteries for back up to the rechargeable (or get more rechargeables of this size). A very nice and useful light.
First off, this is a really good flashlight in terms of brightness, feel and versatility. The swivel head is ingenious for getting the beam into tight spaces, and there's a strong magnet on the bottom if you need both hands and you have something metal to stick it to. It projects about a 4 foot circle of intense, white light at it's highest setting. There are 3 other settings: a low beam, a strobe and a slower blink. Unfortunately, you have to cycle through all 4 to turn it off. My biggest problem is that there are two power options: 1) use the installed rechargeable batteries and a USB C cable to charge; or 2) replace the rechargeable batteries with regular AAA. I would love to do the USB C chargeable batteries, but there is NO PORT to plug the USB C cable into. I have disassembled things on this flashlight that I probably shouldn't have searching for a USB port. There simply isn't one. The instructions supposedly have a picture of the cable plugged into the flashlight, but the picture is so little you can't tell where they plugged it, and what you can see in the picture is not at all helpful. I guess when the rechargeables die, I'll be using AAA batteries.
This penlight is incredibly bright for its size - 800 lumens really makes a difference, especially for close-up work in tight or dark spaces. The magnetic base and 90° swivel head are super practical, making it easy to aim the light exactly where you need it without having to hold it awkwardly.
It feels sturdy and well-made, and the rechargeable feature is really convenient for regular use in the garage, car, or around the house.
I actually got this as a gift for my flashlight-loving husband, and he absolutely loved it. It's one of those tools he immediately started using and showing off, which says a lot. Perfect for anyone who enjoys gadgets, tools, or just having a reliable light handy.
Overall, a compact but powerful flashlight that makes a really thoughtful and useful gift.
This is a handy little pen light. It is thicker than some, but thinner than others, so depending on what you are looking for, this could be ideal or not the right choice.
For me, the magnet and the swivel head were what attracted me to this flashlight. Being able to clip the light to the brim of a hat is very useful, but also being able to clip it to the front pocket of a work shirt and light up what you are working on so you can use both hands is awesome. The magnet also makes for hands-free use. It is strong enough to hold the flashlight to a vertical surface.
My only complaint about this versatility is that the pocket clip can get in the way of the swivel head. For example, you can't have the light clipped on INSIDE a front pocket AND aim the lens straight out. Not a deal-breaker, but an oversight in design.
I am a home inspector and a good flashlight is essential. This light keeps a charge for multiple inspections throughout the day. I charge it overnight.
Charging is sort of a pain, as to do so, you have to open the magnetic end by unscrewing it, take out the rechargeable battery, plug a USB-C into the battery's charging port, and away you go. I would have preferred it charge from a port on the outside of the flashlight, but this works. It is not a deal breaker.
There is a benefit to having a removable rechargeable battery insofar as this light will run off of two AAA batteries, so you can just swap batteries in a pinch. I like that. As an inspector, I often have to replace batteries in smoke alarms and thermostats, so I always have some AAA batteries. I should never need to worry about this light running out of power.
The documentation that came with the light was printed on a tiny piece of paper. Even with enlargement, it was difficult to read. If you rely on the included instructions to work out the features of the flashlight, you will probably have to make guesses as to what it's showing you for charging the battery.
This flashlight is adequately bright for my needs. I tested it in our warehouse which is 65' deep, 25' wide, with 16' ceilings. From the far end, it provided plenty of light to see everything on both power settings.
This is a light that seems to be aimed at tradespeople so I don't know why they bothered with strobing or emergency flash patterns. You can't control the strobe rate, so its useless for equipment testing. As a simple pen light, this is a great option.
I am happy with this flashlight. It meets my expectations and works well in my inspection kit.
I searched the documentation and what I could find online and I could not tell if this light is waterproof or weather resistant in any way. The lens has a silicone washer sealing the glass and the magnetic tail cap has a silicone washer and an O-ring too. The body comes apart in the middle and there is a silicone washer there, but at the swivel, I have no idea if that is a watertight joint or not. For the price, I am not going to find out, but for the price, if this light conks out, it will not be a big deal to replace.
For the price, this is a good light with features that you might not find on other models.
Interesting Black Coated Aluminum or Non Magnetic barrel Alloy? Flashlight. Dual Fuel is a new concept and this comes with 2 regular AAA batteries in the box and 1 LiOn Rechargeable Battery pack installed under Magnetic Screw On/Off base cap (has ring seal). Can use either type battery suppose means Dual Fuel...
Battery Pack has to be removed to Recharge with a USB-C connection built into battery Pack (external supplied Cable Included).
There is a small LED near the USB Battery Pack Connector that lights Red when Charging and Green When Charged (hard to see unless viewed at certain angle). Arrived almost fully charged as pack changed colors in less than 2 minutes.
Magnet is strong and light is very bright or subdued or blinks or blinks out universally recognized SOS morse code distress call for help by selecting mode with one also on off rubberized sealed push button (have to cycle thru modes to one desired).. SOS is 3 short 3 long 3 short blinks. Mayday is the verbal equivalant...
Light Head end can twist cork screw up to a 90 degree angle and stays firm at any angle to 90...
Strong steel pocket clip (attracts magnet) can be adjusted or rotated 360 degrees around flashlight barrel in a indented track.
Everything is tight and appears high quailty except maybe pocket clip (magnet means it could rust).
Price is reasonable as this is kind of a unique well made flashlight compared to other lights that dont have a magnet or light modes or 90 swivel head..
Only negative is locating a replacement rechargeable battery in the future might be difficult but any AAA battery (X2) will work.
Comes in a nice lift lid box..
