Question: I'm looking to use this as a night light/reading light in my son's room.... is it pretty dim at its lowest setting?

Answer: It works like a night light in that it can be bright or you can dim it. A great buy.

Question: How bright does this get? Would it be easy to see around an entire large tent with it?

Answer: Yes it throws quite a bit of light and is adjustable with a rotatable button. It lights up a few feet of space around itself.

Put a full charge and it worked the first time I turned it on. After that the only time it would light was when it was hooked up to the charger. Won't work otherwise. Do not know what the problem is.

We'd purchased another "lantern" (battery operated, made cheaply and didn't work well) for a dark area in our kitchen and went looking for an alternative when we were disappointed in that purchase. This one was a little too "modern" for what we thought we wanted, but it turns out that it's perfect -- small, bright, reliable, well-made. I wish I'd gone for this one a month ago!!

Really neat! Can be used indoors just as well as out side.
